The IWC Pilot's Watch collection began in the 1930s with the 'Special Watch Pilot', Which was designed to ensure reliable operation by pilots even in extreme conditions and established the essential characteristics of a Pilot's Watch, Including excellent readability, Anti-magnetic properties and resistance to temperature changes.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 Black Ace IW326905, Launched in 2023, Is inspired by the U.S. Navy’s VFA-41 “Black Ace” fighter squadron. The dial design, Which was developed in collaboration with the pilots, Features the iconic Ace of Spades motif at 6 o’clock. The most striking feature of this model is the Lumicast dial with solid Super-LumiNova® discs. The entire white dial emits a bright green glow, Providing excellent readability at night.
The case is made of black zirconium oxide ceramic, Which makes it scratch-resistant and lightweight, While minimizing light reflections and enhancing functionality even in confined environments such as cockpits. The case back is made of titanium and is engraved with the emblem of the Black Aces squadron. The watch is equipped with IWC’s in-house movement caliber 32100, Which offers a power reserve of 72 hours and is resistant to magnetic fields.
